Sakeccino Dragon Boat Racing Team
Team Sakeccino is a dragon boat racing team in Seattle, Washington.
We are part of the Seattle SAKE Dragon Boat Club.
Team Sakeccino started out with a core group of team members from the Starbucks Coffee Company Dragon Boat Racing Team who wanted to paddle year around. In our efforts to establish and promote our parent club, Club Sake, as the premier dragon boat association, Sakeccino’s goals are to have fun; physically and mentally challenge ourselves; and enhance camaraderie amongst our teammates, other teams, and the community while maintaining our uncompromising principles as we race competitively in several events year round.
Sakeccino’s six guiding principles:
- Provide a fun environment and treat each other with respect and dignity
- Embrace diversity as an essential component when building our team and racing
- Apply the highest standards of excellence in safety, paddle technique, and racing strategy
- Recognize that winning is not “what place you come across the line” but is “doing your very best at the right time”
- Contribute positively to our communities and our environment
- Recognize that positive results are essential to our future success
